PrestaShop Amazon Integration: Complete Setup Tutorial for Marketplace Sellers

The PrestaShop Amazon module helps merchants manage Amazon selling tasks from their PrestaShop back office instead of updating everything manually in Seller Central.

With the right Amazon module for PrestaShop, you can update existing Amazon offers, match PrestaShop products to products already in Amazon’s catalogue, create new Amazon products when required, sync prices and stock, and import Amazon orders into PrestaShop.

The most important part is choosing the correct workflow before sending product data to Amazon. Existing offers, matched products, and new product creation are not the same process.

This guide explains how to prepare your PrestaShop store, connect your Amazon Seller Central account, choose the right Amazon workflow, test your first products, and decide which Common Services module fits your project.

Quick answer: Give every PrestaShop product and combination a unique Reference and a valid, non-duplicated EAN or UPC where required. Then check whether the product already exists in your Amazon account, exists only in Amazon’s catalogue, or does not exist on Amazon yet. That answer determines whether you should synchronise an existing offer, use matching, or create a new Amazon product.

What This PrestaShop Amazon Setup Guide Covers

This guide is for PrestaShop merchants who want a clear setup path before connecting their store to Amazon.

You will learn:

  • what to prepare before installing the Amazon module;
  • which Amazon module for PrestaShop to review;
  • how Seller Central authorization works;
  • the difference between an Amazon product and an Amazon offer;
  • when to use offer synchronisation;
  • when to use product matching;
  • when product creation is needed;
  • how categories, prices, inventory, shipping, and orders fit into the setup;
  • how to test before sending a larger catalogue;
  • how to manage several Amazon marketplaces from PrestaShop.

The goal is not to make every field identical between PrestaShop and Amazon. What matters is sending the right product, offer, price, stock, and order data through the right workflow.

When to Use a PrestaShop Amazon Integration

The PrestaShop Amazon module is relevant if you already use PrestaShop and want to sell on Amazon, or if you already sell on Amazon and want to manage more of the workflow from your store.

It is useful when you want to:

  • update Amazon prices and quantities from PrestaShop;
  • create offers for products already listed on Amazon;
  • create new Amazon products when no exact catalogue product exists;
  • import Amazon orders into PrestaShop;
  • manage several Amazon marketplaces;
  • reduce repetitive work between PrestaShop and Seller Central.

The process depends on the status of each product.

Some products already exist as offers in your Amazon seller account. Some products exist in Amazon’s catalogue, but you do not have an offer for them yet. Other products may not exist in Amazon’s catalogue yet and require product creation.

Those three situations need three different workflows.

Why Connect Amazon With PrestaShop?

Managing PrestaShop and Amazon separately can become repetitive.

Without a connector, a merchant may need to update stock manually, maintain separate prices, create offers one by one, copy Amazon orders into PrestaShop, and update tracking in different systems.

The Amazon module brings these workflows closer to the store. This can make catalogue, inventory, pricing, order, and marketplace management easier to control from one place.

Amazon still validates the data you submit. Connecting the module does not mean every offer or product will be accepted without corrections. You still need valid product data, correct identifiers, accurate categories, and reports checked after each test.

That is why the safest setup starts small.

Before You Start: Prepare PrestaShop and Amazon

A good setup begins before the module is connected. Many errors happen when the catalogue, account, language, currency, or identifiers are not ready.

Check PrestaShop and Hosting Compatibility

Before installing the Amazon module for PrestaShop, confirm that the selected module release supports your PrestaShop and PHP versions.

Also create a full backup before installation. The backup should include both files and database.

This is important because module installation, configuration, product feeds, and scheduled tasks depend on a stable PrestaShop environment.

Prepare an Amazon Professional Seller Account

Before connecting the module, activate a Professional Amazon Seller account.

Then confirm that the required languages and currencies are installed in PrestaShop for the Amazon countries where you want to sell.

For example, if you want to sell on Amazon Spain, install the localization pack for Spain in PrestaShop. This should include the required language and currency.

In PrestaShop, go to:

International → Localizations → Import a Localization Pack

Then choose the country you need and import the localization pack.

This step matters because Amazon marketplace configuration depends on the correct language and currency being available in PrestaShop.

Validate the Catalogue Structure

Catalogue validation is the foundation of the Amazon module setup because References and identifiers help the module recognise offers, products, combinations, and import orders.

Assign a unique Reference to every simple product and every combination that will be submitted to Amazon.

In the normal module workflow, the PrestaShop Reference is used as the Amazon seller SKU. Missing or duplicated References can interfere with offer updates, stock and price synchronisation, matching, and order imports.

Check EAN, UPC, GTIN, or Exemption Status

Each identifier should be valid, assigned to the correct product or combination, and not duplicated across unrelated products.

Before submitting products, confirm that each required EAN, UPC, or GTIN belongs to the correct item.

Some products may qualify for an Amazon product-ID exemption. When an identifier is not available, obtain an applicable Amazon product-ID exemption before submitting the product without a standard identifier.

An exemption does not make unrelated or duplicated identifiers acceptable.

Choose a Small Test Group

Start with a few simple products that feature unique References, unique and valid EAN or UPC codes, and are active and in stock in PrestaShop.

We recommend testing one or a few simple products before expanding to your full catalogue.

This helps you understand the Amazon report, check the result in Seller Central, and correct issues before they affect more products.

Which Amazon Module for PrestaShop Should You Use?

Common Services has two relevant Amazon modules for PrestaShop: Amazon Market Place and Amazon Market Place Plus.

The main difference is their feature level, payment model, and development path.

ModuleBest fitMain consideration
Amazon Market PlaceExisting legacy installationsSimpler legacy module
Amazon Market Place PlusNew Amazon projects and current developmentAdvanced module on a subscription model, with active development and future improvements

Amazon Market Place is the simpler legacy module. It is suitable for merchants who already use the existing Amazon Market Place setup and want to continue managing that installation.

Amazon Market Place Plus is the advanced module and works on a subscription model. It is the current development path for new features and improvements.

For a new Amazon marketplace PrestaShop project, review Amazon Market Place Plus first. Existing users should review their current setup and migration requirements before changing modules.

Starting a new PrestaShop Amazon setup? Review Amazon Market Place Plus for PrestaShop to manage products, offers, inventory, pricing, orders, and marketplaces from your PrestaShop back office.

Install the Amazon Module in PrestaShop

Install the Amazon module for PrestaShop only after checking store compatibility and creating a full backup, including files and database.

You can install the module through the PrestaShop Marketplace when that option is available, or upload the module ZIP file manually through Module Manager.

Manual ZIP Installation

  1. Sign in to the PrestaShop back office.
  2. Go to Modules → Module Manager.
  3. Click Install a module.
  4. Select or drag the downloaded ZIP file.
  5. Wait for installation to complete.
  6. Open the module configuration.

If installation fails, check upload limits, server memory, PHP and PrestaShop compatibility, folder permissions, and whether the package matches the store.

The module contains tabs such as Informations, Features, Marketplace (countries), Parameters, Categories, Profiles, Mappings, Tools, and Scheduled Tasks.

Connect Your Amazon Seller Central Account

Your PrestaShop Amazon module needs an authorised connection to your Seller Central account.

The current module connection uses Amazon Seller Partner API authorization.

Step 1: Open the Marketplace Tab

Open the Marketplace tab represented by the relevant country flag.

Step 2: Select the Marketplace and Currency

Choose the intended Amazon marketplace and its currency.

If the currency is missing, create it under:

Localization → Currencies

Step 3: Authorise Seller Partner API Access

Authorise your Amazon seller account.

Confirm that the selected marketplace belongs to that account and that the correct Amazon region is being used.

Step 4: Run the Connectivity Test

Click Connectivity Test and continue only when the connection succeeds.

If it fails, check the marketplace, currency, region, authorised account, current authorisation, secure server connection, and the module’s Informations area.

Important: Do not change product data to solve an account-connection failure. Confirm the account and marketplace connection first.

Understand the Difference Between an Amazon Product and an Amazon Offer

Before choosing a workflow, it helps to understand how Amazon separates products and offers.

An Amazon product is the shared catalogue entry. It can contain an ASIN, title, brand, images, product type, features, and variation relationships. Several sellers may place offers against the same product.

An Amazon offer belongs to one seller. It can contain the seller SKU, price, quantity, condition, fulfilment method, shipping information, and preparation time.

This matters because updating an offer already present in your seller account is different from matching a new offer to an existing Amazon product. Both are different from creating a new Amazon product.

Simple example:
If Amazon already has the product page and you only want to sell that item, you usually need an offer. If the product does not exist on Amazon yet, product creation may be needed.

Choose the Correct Amazon Workflow in PrestaShop

Use this decision process before sending any product or offer to Amazon.

Ask these questions in order:

  1. Is the product already present as an offer in your Amazon account?
  2. If not, does the exact product already exist in Amazon’s catalogue?
  3. If not, must a new Amazon product be created?
Product statusCorrect workflow
Already offered through your Amazon accountSynchronise the existing offer
Exists in Amazon’s catalogue but not in your accountUse matching to create your offer
Does not exist in Amazon’s catalogueUse product creation

This is the most important part of the setup. A product should not be forced into the wrong workflow just because it exists in PrestaShop.

PrestaShop Amazon integration decision between offer synchronisation matching and product creation

If your catalogue contains a mix of existing Amazon offers, matched products, and new product creation, review Amazon Market Place Plus before starting the full setup.

Scenario 1: Synchronise an Existing Amazon Offer

Use offer synchronisation when the product is already present in your Amazon seller inventory.

This workflow applies when the seller offer already exists and the PrestaShop Reference corresponds to the Amazon SKU.

The module can update offer data such as price, quantity, condition, latency or preparation time, and fulfilment channel, such as MFN or FBA.

Confirm the Reference and Amazon SKU

The normal workflow uses the PrestaShop Reference as the Amazon seller SKU.

PlatformExample
PrestaShop ReferenceBAG-BLACK-01
Amazon seller SKUBAG-BLACK-01

If the Amazon SKU differs from the PrestaShop Reference, do not assume the module will recognize the offer automatically. Instead, either change the PrestaShop Reference or use the SKU-override option.

Before syncing, configure the inventory report task so the module can identify SKUs already in the Amazon account.

Send a Manual Offer Test

Test Amazon offer synchronisation manually before enabling automated synchronisation by cron.

  1. Select a test product.
  2. Go to Catalog → Amazon → Offers.
  3. Select the marketplace/country.
  4. Review the enabled offer settings.
  5. Send the offer feed.
  6. Generate or open the Amazon report.
  7. Check warnings and errors.
  8. Verify the price and quantity in Seller Central.

After the manual test succeeds, configure the relevant scheduled tasks for recurring price and stock updates.

Scenario 2: Match a Product That Already Exists on Amazon

Amazon product matching is used when the product exists in Amazon’s catalogue but your seller account does not yet contain an offer for it.

How Matching Works

The module submits the PrestaShop Reference as the seller SKU, together with the EAN or UPC, price, quantity, and supported offer data.

Amazon uses the identifier, such as EAN or UPC, to find the corresponding catalogue product. If it finds the product, it can create your seller offer on that existing product.

Matching creates your offer. It does not create a new shared product detail page.

Enable Matching for a Test

Before matching, run the inventory report task so the module can identify SKUs which are already in your Amazon account.

  1. Select a test product.
  2. Go to Catalog → Amazon → Offers.
  3. Select the marketplace/country.
  4. Select Matching.
  5. Send the offer feed.
  6. Review the Amazon report.
  7. Verify the ASIN and seller offer in Seller Central.

Before matching, make sure the Amazon product is really the same as your PrestaShop product.

When the Correct Product Uses a Different EAN

Sometimes the exact Amazon product exists, but the PrestaShop EAN is not linked to it.

In that case:

  1. Confirm that the Amazon product is identical.
  2. Copy its ASIN.
  3. Open the PrestaShop product.
  4. Open the Amazon product-sheet extension.
  5. Enter the ASIN in the ASIN field.
  6. Select and send the offer in matching mode.
  7. Review the report and Seller Central result.

Do not force an ASIN for a product that is only similar. A wrong match can attach your offer to the wrong Amazon product.

Amazon product matching using PrestaShop Reference EAN UPC and verified ASIN

Scenario 3: Create a Product That Does Not Yet Exist on Amazon

Use product creation when the product is absent from your Amazon account and does not exist in Amazon’s catalogue.

This workflow usually needs more preparation than offer synchronisation or matching because Amazon may require information that is optional in PrestaShop.

Prepare the Required Data

Product creation can require:

  • title and brand;
  • product type and category;
  • browse node;
  • EAN, UPC, or approved exemption;
  • images and description;
  • required features and attributes;
  • variation relationships;
  • dimensions, weight, or category-specific values.

A product complete enough for a PrestaShop storefront may still be incomplete for Amazon.

Verify and Send the Product

  1. Configure the required profile.
  2. Add mappings where needed.
  3. Assign the profile to the relevant PrestaShop category.
  4. Select a test product.
  5. Go to Catalog → Amazon → Products.
  6. Click Verify.
  7. Send the product to Amazon.
  8. Open the Amazon report.
  9. Correct additional errors and submit again where necessary.

Product creation is usually the most sensitive workflow, so test it with a small number of simple products first.

Configure Categories, Prices, Inventory, and Shipping

After the account and product workflow are clear, configure the marketplace settings that control which products are sent, how prices are calculated, how stock is updated, and how orders are handled.

Categories

Use the Categories tab to select which PrestaShop categories should be included in Amazon synchronization.

Products inside the selected categories are considered eligible for synchronization with Amazon. By default, all categories are selected when the module is installed.

If you change the selected categories, perform a manual offer send immediately. You can also empty the queue to avoid inconsistencies.

For product creation, link your profiles to the corresponding PrestaShop categories. One profile can cover multiple PrestaShop categories, but one category can only be linked to a single profile.

If a product belongs to multiple categories, make sure its default category is checked in the module’s Categories tab.

Pricing Rules, Margins, and Currency

Depending on the module and configuration, pricing controls may include default marketplace rules, profile-level rules, fixed adjustments, percentage adjustments, discounts, promotions, rounding, and marketplace currency handling.

PrestaShop source priceRuleExample result
€50No adjustment€50
€50Add 10%€55
€50Add €5€55

Before sending prices, account for Amazon fees, VAT, shipping, returns, promotions, target margin, and marketplace currency.

When another currency is used, confirm the source price and review the final converted result before enabling a full catalogue update.

Inventory Synchronisation

Review source quantity, combination-level stock, safety stock, out-of-stock behaviour, exclusions, FBA or merchant-fulfilled stock, and the scheduled offer task.

Inventory settings should be tested before applying them to the full catalogue. This is especially important if you sell the same stock through several channels.

Shipping, Carriers, and Order States

Review the Amazon shipping template, marketplace, preparation time, fulfilment method, product-level shipping settings, and tracking requirements.

Carrier mapping is also required. It connects Amazon carriers and PrestaShop carriers for incoming and outgoing orders.

Order-state mapping is also required to import and update orders.

Test Your First Amazon Submission

A controlled test helps you review Amazon reports before sending a larger catalogue.

Choose a simple product with:

  • a unique Reference;
  • a valid EAN or UPC;
  • stable price;
  • reliable quantity;
  • clear images;
  • no known restriction.

Then identify whether it needs synchronisation, matching, or product creation.

Use the correct area:

NeedWhere to go
Existing offerCatalog → Amazon → Offers
MatchingCatalog → Amazon → Offers with Matching selected
Product creationCatalog → Amazon → Products

After sending the test, review the Amazon report.

Then verify the ASIN, seller SKU, price, quantity, marketplace, and product identity in Seller Central.

Do not send a larger catalogue until the result is understood.

Import Amazon Orders Into PrestaShop

The PrestaShop Amazon module can bring Amazon orders into the store when SKUs, References, carriers, and order states are configured correctly.

The Amazon seller SKU should correspond to the intended PrestaShop product or combination Reference.

Review carrier mapping, order states, payment or validation states, cancelled-order handling, and FBA handling where applicable.

For a manual order import test:

  1. Go to Catalog → Amazon → Orders.
  2. Select the date range and statuses.
  3. Click Show Orders.
  4. Select one order and import it.
  5. Check the product, quantity, price, carrier, and order state.
  6. Confirm that it can enter the normal fulfilment process.

After the manual test works, configure the required order-import and status-update scheduled tasks.

Need Amazon orders to move into PrestaShop with carrier and order-state mapping? Review Amazon Market Place Plus for current order-management workflows.

Manage Multiple Amazon Marketplaces

Configure and test one marketplace before adding another.

To use additional Amazon platforms, go to:

Modules → Amazon → Configure → Features

Then enable the options you need, such as Europe, USA, Worldwide, Amazon BE, or Amazon ZA, depending on your module and target marketplaces.

The module displays one tab per language available in PrestaShop. For example, if French, English, and German are activated in PrestaShop, the module can display the corresponding language tabs for configuration.

Languages are required. You cannot use Amazon for a target language if that language is not installed in PrestaShop.

If a language is missing, go to:

International → Localization → Import a Localization Pack

Then choose and import the required localization pack.

Marketplace differences can include language, currency, product types, categories, controlled values, required attributes, VAT, shipping, returns, and product eligibility.

Recommended order:

  1. Enable the additional Amazon platform in the module Features tab.
  2. Install the required PrestaShop language and currency for the target country.
  3. Connect one marketplace.
  4. Validate References and identifiers.
  5. Synchronise one existing offer.
  6. Test matching and product creation where required.
  7. Confirm prices and quantities.
  8. Import one Amazon order.
  9. Review reports and logs.
  10. Add the next marketplace.

Advanced Features to Review After the First Test

Once the first marketplace and test products work, you can review additional features. Do not enable everything at once. Add one workflow at a time and check the result.

Pricing Rules

A pricing rule changes the Amazon price according to a calculation you configure.

Before enabling a pricing rule, check the PrestaShop source price, Amazon pricing rule, marketplace currency, dates, minimum margin, and the final price result.

Test one offer before applying a pricing rule broadly.

FBA and Prime Eligibility

Depending on the module version and configuration, supported FBA workflows can include FBA order imports, stock synchronisation, and multichannel fulfilment.

Installing the module does not make an offer Prime-eligible. Prime eligibility depends on Amazon’s programme rules, seller account, fulfilment method, product, marketplace, inventory, and performance requirements.

Promotions and Discounts

Before enabling a promotion, check the PrestaShop source price, Amazon pricing rule, marketplace currency, dates, minimum margin, and the result after the promotion ends.

Test one offer before applying a promotion broadly.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

If something does not work, first identify which part of the setup is affected.

The issue may concern:

  • account connection;
  • offer synchronisation;
  • matching;
  • product creation;
  • inventory;
  • pricing;
  • order import.

Existing Offer Does Not Update

Check whether the offer exists in your Amazon account, the Reference equals the Amazon SKU, the correct marketplace is selected, price and quantity options are enabled, scheduled tasks are running, and the report contains an error.

Matching Does Not Create an Offer

Check whether the product exists in Amazon’s catalogue, the EAN or UPC is valid, the Reference is unique, Matching is selected, the inventory report task has been run, and the report contains an error.

The Offer Is Attached to the Wrong Product

Check whether the Amazon product is really the same as your PrestaShop product.

Do not force an ASIN until the exact product identity is confirmed.

Product Creation Is Rejected

Check the profile, product type, category, browse node where required, mandatory fields, controlled-value mappings, images, brand requirements, variations, and Amazon report.

Amazon Account Does Not Connect

Check Seller Partner API authorisation, marketplace, region, currency, authorised account, secure connection, and the module Informations area.

Do not edit product data to solve an account connection issue. Fix the connection first.

An Amazon Order Does Not Import

Check order and payment status, marketplace, fulfilment method, seller SKU, PrestaShop Reference, combination Reference, order-state settings, carrier settings, and scheduled tasks.

Price Is Different From Expected

Check source price, VAT, pricing rule, currency conversion, rounding, promotion, shipping adjustment, product-level override, and marketplace.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the three main PrestaShop Amazon workflows?

The three main workflows are offer synchronisation, matching, and product creation.

Use offer synchronisation when the offer already exists in your Amazon account. Use matching when the product exists in Amazon’s catalogue but you do not yet have an offer. Use product creation when the product does not exist in Amazon’s catalogue.

Is Amazon product matching the same as mapping?

No. Matching creates a seller offer on an existing Amazon product. Mapping is used during product creation when a PrestaShop feature or attribute must correspond to an Amazon-controlled value.

Does the PrestaShop Reference need to match the Amazon SKU?

For normal synchronisation of an offer already in your Amazon account, the PrestaShop Reference should correspond to the Amazon seller SKU.

If the Amazon SKU is different, either change the PrestaShop Reference or use the SKU-override option.

Can I export the full catalogue immediately?

Start with a small test group. Test synchronisation, matching, product creation, prices, quantities, reports, and order imports before expanding.

Do I need EAN or UPC codes for every product?

Products generally need valid identifiers unless Amazon has approved an applicable exemption.

Do not enter duplicated or unrelated codes just to complete the field.

Which Amazon module for PrestaShop should I use?

For an existing legacy installation, review Amazon Market Place for PrestaShop.

For a new project, review Amazon Market Place Plus for PrestaShop because it is the current development path for new features and improvements.

Can I manage several Amazon marketplaces from PrestaShop?

Yes, but configure and test one marketplace first. Then add the required language, currency, and Amazon platform settings for the next marketplace before expanding.

Final Thoughts

A reliable PrestaShop Amazon setup starts with a structured catalogue and the correct workflow for each product.

Before sending data to Amazon:

  • give each product and combination a unique Reference;
  • use valid, non-duplicated EAN or UPC codes;
  • check whether the offer already exists in your Amazon account;
  • synchronise existing offers when the Reference corresponds to the Amazon SKU;
  • use matching when the product exists on Amazon but your seller offer does not;
  • use product creation when no exact Amazon product exists;
  • test one marketplace and a small product group before expanding.
